EV Charging Stations

Level 2 (L2) Charging is EV Charging at 208-240V and between typically 6 – 19.2 kW. L2 charging is used where people sleep or work, or where they will be parked for hours at a time.

While L2 Chargers are best used where EV drivers are parked for long periods of time, DCFC units are installed where EVs need quick turn-arounds.  The best applications for DCFC are off highways (for EV drivers on road trips) or in fleet applications where EV cars and trucks need to get charged and back on the road.

DC Fast Charging (DCFC) typically uses 480V, 3 phase power (but can utilize 208-240V as well).  While there are 30kW DCFC wall mount units, the majority of DCFC units being installed are 100kW and above.
