Daniel Cohen, Principal

Daniel Cohen, Principal and Co-Founder of Sona, is dedicated to meeting and exceeding the energy efficiency needs of customers while helping them become more profitable and competitive within their fields. Daniel is focused on key account management and growing an agile and nimble sales organization that is also technically sound.

Prior to starting Sona, Daniel was a top sales performer at his last organization, developing and presenting solutions to key personnel within major retail organizations. Daniel’s experience in operations, finance, and marketing enabled him to grow sales and add services for his customers’ benefit, successfully increasing company revenue. Daniel graduated from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where he received his B.S. in Marketing.

Daniel has been married to his wife Caroline for 12+ years who has kept him on his toes with three wonderful children.  When he’s not chasing the four of them around or on the road for work, Daniel enjoys playing tennis and golf.

David McSweeney, Principal

David McSweeney is one of the Principals and founding members of Sona Energy Solutions. He brings 17 years of professional experience with him to this venture, eight of which were focused on sales management.

Early on in his career, David co-founded a startup that serviced refuse and recycling receptacles of residential and commercial properties throughout the greater Los Angeles area. David entered the lighting and energy efficiency industry in 2014. Through his agile sales performance and willingness to go the extra mile, David was quickly promoted to Northeast Regional Sales Manager. David has worked on projects with several Fortune 500 companies, helping remove millions of kWh from the grid and successfully meeting customer energy and budgetary goals.

In his off time, David enjoys taking his dog on hikes through the woods and spending time with his family.

Chris Kaiser, VP of Business Operations

Chris Kaiser is VP of Business Operations.  In addition to helping the sales team and streamlining operations, his main focus is strengthening Sona’s portfolio of clean energy solutions and partnerships in areas like EV infrastructure, Solar PV, Energy Storage, Microgrids, HVAC and Energy Controls.

Chris joined Sona after 10+ years of designing, selling, and implementing Clean Energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers, primarily focused on LED lighting retrofits. Chris graduated with highest honors from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  He is passionate about all things related to Clean Energy and Sustainable Living.

Chris lives just outside of Atlanta in Brookhaven, GA with his wife, two children and Pomeranian.  Outside of work, if he’s not out with his family on their electric bikes, he’s trying to find time to ride his road bike.  The top item currently on his bucket list is to chase the Tour de France peloton up a mountain finish in the Alps.

Brian Fentress, VP of Project Development

Brian joins Sona as Vice President of Project Development and will be responsible for building out the team and tools used to design and implement energy efficiency projects for Sona’s customers.  He has over 15 years of experience in developing, selling, and installing energy efficiency projects for commercial and industrial customers.  These projects include LED, compressed air, variable frequency drives, solar photovoltaic, and combined heat and power for cold storage, retail, manufacturing, and hospitality customers.

Brian has previously worked in the aerospace field designing jet engines for commercial and military customers and holds 6 patents. He has also worked in the fuel cell industry developing power plants for automotive manufacturers such as Hyundai, BMW, and Toyota.  Brian graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering.  He is credentialed as a Certified Energy Manager with the Association of Energy Engineers.

Brian enjoys spending time with his family engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, and riding his motorcycle.  He is also an avid reader and lover of animals.

Julia Segal, Marketing Associate

Julia Segal combines her experience in strategic communications with her problem-solving and creative skills to develop Sona’s marketing and branding initiatives in her role as Marketing Associate. Julia is responsible for building Sona’s digital and print footprint across platforms, helping to identify new opportunities and execute lead-generating campaigns.

Before joining Sona, Julia worked as a Consulting Associate at The Munshine Group where she was responsible for providing strategic communications guidance and writing support for nonprofit clients. Julia contributed to the internal and external communications teams by writing and designing customized content and supporting donor outreach and fundraising initiatives. Julia received her bachelor’s degree from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York.

Outside of her work with Sona, Julia is a singer and songwriter and enjoys performing at venues in New York City where she resides. She loves to run along the West Side Highway, try out new recipes, and play tennis.

Eric Arroyo, VP of National Accounts

Eric Arroyo is the Vice President of National Accounts for Sona. Eric has spent the last decade working side by side with some of the largest Retail Grocery, Big-Box and C-Store companies in the world, helping them save time, energy, and money by improving the quality of their stores, creating a better customer experience, and increasing revenues.

Eric joins Sona from Philips/Signify Lighting, where he was the Sr. Segment Lead U.S. for the Retail Grocery, Big-Box, and C-Store segments after working on the National Accounts Team for eight years. Prior to his time at Philips/Signify, Eric spent three years on the Corporate Accounts team at W.W. Grainger, helping some of the largest organizations improve their facilities and teaching them how to prepare for unplanned MRO needs. Eric is focused on developing these segments within Sona’s scope of work, delivering positive and continuous results.

Eric has been married to his wonderful wife for 18 years and has two high energy children. Eric enjoys writing, theater, and creating new culinary dishes in his free time. Eric has a B.S. in Business Management from The University of Phoenix. He is also Lean Advanced Certified.

Jacy Carey Everett, VP of Sales

Jacy Carey Everett is Sona Energy Solutions’ Vice President of Sales. He brings nearly two decades of experience in construction, lighting, energy, business ownership and finance to Sona. His career path has included an intensive 9-month lighting training program, manufacturing, lighting agency, electrical contracting, ESCO, business ownership, consulting, and entrepreneur.

Jacy uses his versatile background to identify optimal end-user solutions that help create cash-flow through energy savings while improving customer, employee, and stakeholder satisfaction. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from UMass Dartmouth and an MBA from Babson College.

Jacy and his amazing wife Andrea have two young children. Outside of work, Jacy enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, working out, table tennis, meditation, learning, and reading.

Sona Energy Solutions works directly with manufacturers, engineers, distribution channels, utility and labor partners to provide custom commercial energy saving solutions.
