Maryland Electric Vehicle Charging Station Incentives and Rebates

Read Time 3 mins | April 05, 2022 | Written by: Julia Segal

Up next, we’re breaking down the available electric vehicle charging station incentives and rebates in Maryland.

Maryland and seven other states across the U.S. formed a task force dedicated to implementing the Zero Emission Vehicles program. This program requires vehicle manufacturers in the state to begin selling more ZEVs. Maryland has created several incentive programs to achieve the goal of 300,000 ZEVs on the road by 2025.

By offering rebates to individuals and businesses, these state incentive programs reduce the financial burden of acquiring electric vehicle charging stations and encourage EV adoption. This in turn, supports the state’s goals of increased EV deployment and greenhouse gas reduction.

Below is a list of EV charging station incentive programs offered in the state of Maryland.

Maryland Energy Administration – Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Rebate Program

Under this program, the Maryland Energy Administration offers a rebate of 40% of the purchase and installation price of the EVSE. Residential rebates are 40% up to $700, up to $4,000 for businesses, and up to $5,000 for retail service stations. At the time of this post, 85% of funds budgeted for FY22 have been committed. The total amount of available funding is $268,538. More on the program here.
