Electric vehicle chargers are quickly becoming part of the fabric of everyday life – this means that they’re popping up in all of the spots where they’re needed most.

In March of 2022, we covered the announcement of new EV fast chargers at a Taco Bell in San Francisco from the partnership between Diversified Restaurant Group and ChargeNet. The chargers are now in the ground at this location, which is the first of 100 Taco Bells in California with plans to install charging points.

We’ve seen the need for electric vehicle charging rise steadily for the multifamily industry. Developers and property managers know that the tenants they’re attracting want the option to charge their vehicles where they live, meaning that for a lot of new construction, installing chargers is a must. Recently, Xeal, a provider of EV charging stations and smart technology, partnered with developer and manager of multifamily homes, Friedman Realty Group, to provide charging stations for their Philadelphia portfolio. The plan is to bring chargers to 300 units in housing communities on the Main Line of Pennsylvania.

Continuing with the theme of charging at home, EverCharge announced their first single-family home charging solution, COVE. COVE is compatible with all EVs on the market and provides a high-speed charging experience right from your home, while integrating with any electrical supply. It will be available to purchase in the summer of 2023.

From quick serve restaurants to multifamily communities and single homes, installing electric vehicle chargers in the places where drivers need to charge provides accessibility and convenience and promotes sustainability. Weaving charging access into the everyday lives of EV drivers ensures that more consumers can comfortably make the decision to go electric, knowing that they’ll be able to charge where and when they need to – at their homes, restaurants, shopping plazas, highway rest stops. Keep your eye out, because the numbers of chargers in each of these locations is certainly rising.
